Email chaos, risk assessments missing, last-minute prac requests, outdated SDS files, juggling slow, clunky applications — all when short on time.

Sound familiar? We can help.

Practical Management

A Fluorescence reminder email: a practical runs in 3 days and its risk assessment still hasn’t been completed
The lab’s calendar for one day: every timetabled class, and the two pracs booked into them
A practical template opened from the library, with its equipment, chemicals and lab order lines, ready to use

Nothing left in suspension

Automatic notifications by email and in the platform keep risk assessments and lab orders moving, and time-stamped comments keep everyone informed. Teachers see fulfilment progress in real time.

Scheduling on your terms

Set school-wide timetables, blackout periods and classes so booking a prac is a few clicks, not a back-and-forth. Configurable lab approvals and minimum notice periods give you the lead time to prepare properly.

Same prac, on repeat

Build a template in seconds, method, risk assessment and lab order included, and teachers use it straight from the practical library. Import templates from your favourite publishers or build your own.

Risk Assessments

A risk assessment's details and two-person sign-off
Hydrochloric acid >8 M (>25%) in the chemical register: Danger, its corrosive and irritant pictograms, and its hazard statements
Contextual hazards on a risk assessment: hot heating apparatus from the Bunsen burner and tripod is added, and burning magnesium ribbon is suggested

From prac to SOP

Attach a risk assessment to a practical, or a standard operating procedure in the prep room. It’s the same first-class experience either way.

A chemical database you can stand behind

Built on GHS 7, aligned to Safe Work Australia requirements and reviewed by qualified chemical experts and toxicologists. Thousands of the chemicals already on your shelves, continually refreshed as standards evolve.

Understands combinations, not just ingredients

Our contextual engine draws on decades of combined lab experience to flag contextual risks, so you spot hazards before they become an incident.

Inventory Management

The chemical inventory searched for acid: hydrochloric acid at three strengths and a 500 mL bottle of glacial acetic acid, from five suppliers
A 2.5 L bottle of 32% hydrochloric acid flagging a safety data sheet published in August 2026, ready to review
Ten labels for 1 M acetic acid with the school name, printed from label 8 of an Avery L7651 sheet

Everything in its element

Over 20,000 chemicals ready to track, pre-populated with safety information, ADG codes and disposal guidance. Record volumes in your units at any location, run stocktake and flag low stock with one click.

SDS maintenance on autopilot

Fluorescence maintains SDS files for over 20,000 chemicals from Australia’s most popular suppliers. When an SDS changes we retrieve it automatically and notify you for review. A booklet of every SDS in your inventory is one click away.

Safety summaries and labels, ready to print

Generate safety summary sheets straight from the chemical register, powered by the same data behind your risk assessments. Print fully customisable, GHS compliant labels on just about any stock, roll or sheet.

A home for every SOP

Lab notes is a text editor built for school labs. Create SOPs linked to risk assessment templates, checklists or general documents, organised in folders you create.

Supercharge your lab experience

By connecting teachers and lab staff each step of the way.

A view built for teachers

Teachers get a dedicated view showing exactly what they need and nothing they don’t, so they can focus on the next lesson.

The teacher dashboard

A library the lab curates

Teachers choose from a curated library of practicals and risk assessments, published by the lab. Build templates from scratch, copy a previous practical, or upload prac packs from our network of publishers and associations - every detail reviewed, so the safe prac is always the easy choice.

The practical library

Always in the loop, wherever you are

Comments live right on the practical, so the conversation is never far away. Teachers see the full picture at a glance; risk assessment status, lab order fulfilment and every message from the lab, all in one place.

Common questions

Yes. Lab approval can be toggled on or off in settings. When toggled off, practicals will be accepted automatically. Lab users can also set preferred time limits for requests to be accepted.

Yes. Your existing chemical register can be imported automatically, provided you can supply it in an Excel spreadsheet format. The Fluorescence team can also help import your data when you start using the app.

Fluorescence warns users about equipment conflicts without blocking them completely. This allows teachers and technicians to coordinate sharing arrangements, move resources between labs, or adjust quantities while still keeping visibility of potential clashes.

Yes. Fluorescence recognises that hazards change as concentrations change. Hazards are aligned to the appropriate concentration ranges of a given chemical, according to specific concentration limits, GHS 7 and Safe Work Australia requirements.

Yes. Fluorescence includes configurable label generation with support for hazard pictograms, signal words and safety statements, helping schools produce compliant labels automatically. Label layouts can be customised for different container sizes, from larger stock containers to small dropper bottles.

Fluorescence can automatically monitor supplier Safety Data Sheets and retrieve the revised SDS every time an update occurs. Users are notified in their account each time this happens, allowing staff to review any changes directly in the platform.

Yes. Fluorescence is designed to alert users when underlying chemical safety information changes, making it easier to identify templates and risk assessments that may need review.
